Got an Outlander 330 or 400? Gauge says “fail” when you start it? Boiling batteries or having to replace them frequently? If so then you have a voltage regulator problem. Do not continue to ride the ATV or try to jumpstart/charge/add an extra battery etc. When the voltage regulator on a Bombardier or Can-am Outlander fails it fails to full open which means it sends more then 17 volts through a 12 volt electrical system. The first thing to go is the battery and then shortly the lightbulbs and gauge will be damaged. If you continue to ride it, then the stator and/or CDI will go and you will be left with over $1000 in parts not counting labor. This listing is for a complete voltage regulator upgrade that will once and for all eliminate the issues that cause the damage in the first place. The original regulator is prone to overheating which damages the parafin seal on the back of the regulator (see second picture- original on the left and the replacement on the right). Eventually moisture will damage the internals and cause a failure. This will consist of a HD regulator with an aluminum heat sink to dissapate heat, a harness adaptor to convert your harness to the HD regulator and a complete set of instructions. This takes all of 10 minutes to install. These are factory Can-am parts that will cost you $300-$400 to have done at your local dealership and most dealers don’t even know they exist! Why shouldn’t you just buy a cheapy aftermarket part? Because they don’t fix the cause of the problem and actually make it worse over time because they are a universal part and don’t operate to the exact specifications required on the Outlander which means it can pass a higher voltage to sensitive electrical parts. You will also eventually have to replace them. We are a Can-Am dealer and have upgraded approx. 150 Outlanders and have never had a single failure since! ####IMPORTANT### There are numerous versions of factory BRP regulators that have been offered from the factory over the years to try and fix these issues. This kit requires that the regulator on your machine be at the REAR of the quad on the left side bolted to the battery box (last picture) or in the very front of the machine near the fuse box. Just look in one of those two places and it should be there on 90% of of all Outlanders. Please call me at 989-826-3388 T-F 9-5:30EST or Sat 9-3EST if you have any questions. If your guage no longer works or if you need a battery call me and I will give you a substantial discount on the package. Once again, this is a very simple install that is basically plug and play. Thanks.
